I am fully with you on that. People are in a vicious cycle of publishing and getting their next book hitting the streets.

Having never written a book, I can see that others do not take the time to breathe.

IDEAS could be

*1. TO MAKE MORE PEOPLE AWARE* by virtual discussions, even with giving more speaking time by the participants, maybe see:

there you find such roudns as we do since more than 10 years. The first link leads you to dialog and decision culture, but maybe go down to Gesprächskultur first !!

*2. to use another format so the arguments* and responses are closer to the text and easier to respond to detailed focussed issues, instead of having to read another paper in GEGEN REFERAT.

there Ingetraut DAHLBERG wrote on the BEGRIFFSKULTUR DER SOZIALWISSENSCHFTEN - Können sich Ihre Probleme Lösen?

She was like stones my many reviewers! - maybe you should take her paper and discuss it again.

4. I feel you are touching on a very basic issues, there are no generalist subjects. When I try to take a step back and see issues and disciplines with glasses of SURVEY KNOWLEDGE or in an "Overview" mode I confront ignorance or strong agression. Did you see:
