"In a couple of recent publications, Granville Sewell, who is Professor of
Mathematics at the University of Texas El Paso, argued that evolution violates
the second law of thermodynamics in a spectacular way. Specifically he noted that if an increase in
order is extremely improbable when a system is closed, it is still extremely
improbable when the system is open, unless something is entering which makes it
much less improbable."

Dear Professors Sewell and Mohrhoff:
A useful concept for 'entropy' is: "disorganization," or,
"degradation." [The 2nd Law of Thermodynamics can be stated as: U' -
U = T(S' - S) - W, where (U' - U) is the internal energy of a system of
constant mass, T is the thermodynamic temperature, (S' - S) is the change in entropy
of the system and W is the work done by or on the system (+ve
if 'on' system).]
Also, this Law is: "The entropy of a closed system increases with
time."
However, the above "time" is "Conventional time" ("Ct," or "t") which is unidirectional,
from one's: "Future, =====> to Present, =====> to Past."
This "Unidirectionality" is often
associated with: "Increasing Entropy." However, there appears now, a 2nd
"temporal form," called "RhythmicTime"
("RT," or "RBT"), which is "bidirectional"
(clockwise/counterclockwise).
Information encoded in "RhythmicTime RT" is
"Rhythm Based Communication" (or "RBC"), & it has a
"suggested semantic symbolism" of: "InformaTion."
Certain "aspects" of this new "InformaTion" (such as the transmission of a
"null" signal, seismic activity, Nature's particle fluctuations,
etc.) I) may have meaning, & II) can travel INTO any Earthbound
closed system.
Such transfer of "InformaTion," can thus
DECREASE entropy of the system, and it can do this by decreasing the
"disorganization" of such a system!
This is a previously unexplained "power" of "RBC," and of
"InformaTion." There cannot be a "closed natural
system" on this planet, that can avoid
"natural daily, yearly, & lunar rhythms." If there exists a perspicacity within such a "closed system," then
negative entropy can arise using the "InformaTion"
of such an internal, "Rhythm Based Communication" process. Such may well be associated with the negative
entropy of living systems.
