Thanks much for your helpful response, especially for your notes on abstraction. No one else has even offered commentary on that difficult topic. Most appreciated.

Re your: {20} "He also has a section entitled "mind versus reality", in which he seems to claim that "the mind = emotions" distorts reality which he says is "external"."

I'm confused. To what are you referring? I can't find it.

Paragraph {20} refers to the commentator on Hayakawa, see the web-site mentioned in {16}.

However, when I looked at this site today I found it has changed. It seems to be "under construction". There are some new sections, including an illustration, but the mentioned section I could not find.
