[The following is in response to TA32 and to a note to Max Tegmark on the article by Tegmark and Wheeler in Scientific American, February 2001.]

Thanks for your note. This may surprise you, but I agree with you, at least to the extent that any underlying "external" reality is likely to be very different from the way in which we humans subjectively perceive it, and that one of the greatest challenges in the search for a unified theory of physics will be understanding how the two are related.
