What values are "ingested in utero"? It's my understanding that life in the womb is like the life expected by most American teenagers today, desire & satiation as the cycle of being: instant gratification. Thus too values.

The creative imperative begins, I think, only when that cycle is broken, delayed, expanded, discovered.

Not that we're going to avoid getting"'slapped around a bit" anyway. The Muse is demanding!
